Review:
Arguably one of the best horror comedies of all time is in Edgar Wright of Shaun of the Dead, and since the release of the 04, there were a good number of wannabes. Based on the trailer for Zombieland, however, I think this movie has some serious potential to match Shaun in terms of quality, maybe even win it. After seeing the movie, Im happy to say that not only that.Unlike comedy Zombieland lot of recent memory, where most of the streets are given in the trailer, Zombieland is filled to the brim with laugh-out- loud moments thanks in large part to the brilliant players. Eisenberg awesome as the main protagonist, Columbus, shows this sense of vulnerability and awkwardness, without being overly Michael CERA-like. Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin are also great as a sweet, but Wichita difficult and more-mature-than-it-that seems Little Rock, respectively. The real stand-out performance of, though, is Woody Harrelson as Twinkies-Lovin, zombie-hatin Tallahassee. In addition to Woody Boyd on Cheers and Frasier, this is definitely the best performance of his career. There are also painfully funny cameo appearance on mid-way in the movie that would be a crime to spoil. Suffice it to say, this is? hands-down? Cameo the best ive ever seen in aspects of film.The Zombieland most surprising, to me, is how much heart. All the characters felt warm and alive, and what drama has been able to find was very sincere. In the end, you feel invested in the story and the characters, who? I think? is the most important thing any film of any genre can do.Zombieland immediately become my favorite horror '(comedy or otherwise). ? A shortage of a better word? Quotable dialogue, always hysterical tone, and captivating characters, all come together to create a film that will surely become a cult classic.
